Ontrack to sponsor "Big Crash" radio broadcast

Ontrack Data International, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONDI) today announced that it will be sponsoring this Sunday’s “Big Crash” event, which will be broadcast live on the On Computers show, the longest running on-air/on-line computer radio show. As the world’s leading data recovery service, Ontrack® will be available on-air during the broadcast and on-site at the event to provide data protection tips and to educate users on the value of professional data recovery services.

On Computers created “The Big Crash” to give frustrated computer users an outlet for expression. To illustrate this theme, the highlight of Sunday’s event will be the tossing of more than twenty old, unusable computers from a large platform at the Embarcadero in San Francisco. On Computers’ goal is to make this a fun event, while also offering a serious message that solutions exist when computer problems arise.

“We have seen authors who have been unable to access their electronically stored manuscripts, CPAs who have lost accounting records during tax season, and banks who have lost a month’s worth of deposits,” said Michael Rogers, chairman and CEO of Ontrack Data International, Inc. “To these computer users, their big crashes are more than simply frustrations. They can signify the loss of revenue, the loss of customers and, in the most severe cases, the closing of a business. During Sunday’s broadcast we will clear up the myths surrounding data recovery and educate listeners that data recovery is possible from all types of operating systems and all storage media from any location in the world.”

Anyone who calls in to the show or visits the Ontrack table during the event will be eligible to win free data recovery services worth up to $5000. Ontrack will also be giving away Data Advisor™ diagnostic software at the event. This software is an easy to use diagnostic tool that helps computer users quickly determine what is preventing them from accessing data on their desktop, laptop or notebook computer and provides recommendations on how they can recover the lost data. Listeners can download the software free of charge from the Ontrack web site at

“The Big Crash” will air this Sunday, October 19, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. On Computers is broadcast to more than seventy markets in the United States, in addition to the Armed Forces Radio and the internet. Stations broadcasting the On Computers show may be found at their web site at
