Ontrack re-names e-discovery practice “DataTrail™”
New brand reflects company's commitment to serving the legal community and the growing use of electronic evidence in the legal system
MINNEAPOLIS, May 14, 2001 — ONTRACK Data International, Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDI), today announced that the company has established a new brand for it's Electronic Information Management (EIM) software and services. The company's electronic discovery solutions will carry the DataTrailÔ brand, which describes the nature of legal discovery as electronic documents become critical to the legal community.
"We felt it was important to have a name that reflected our business and the growing trend we see in electronic discovery today," said Jennifer Zeller, director of DataTrail, Ontrack. "With 93% of all corporate communication currently being created electronically, the courts are recognizing the importance of bringing electronic information into the discovery process. If lawyers are only looking at the paper trail, and aren't looking at the electronic information – the data trail - it would be like looking at only three out of ten file drawers of information prior to going to court."
"As the leaders in electronic discovery, we felt it was important to have a name that reflected the extensive services that we provide to our clients," Zeller continued. "Ontrack DataTrail does that."
Ontrack's DataTrail business increased to $2.6 million during the first quarter of this year, showing almost 150 percent growth over the comparable quarter of 2000.
