Kroll Ontrack® wins top honors in 10th annual AmLaw tech survey

Top AmLaw 200 law firms choose Kroll Ontrack for the fourth consecutive year as their preferred electronic discovery services provider

Minneapolis – September 14, 2005The American Lawyer’s 10th Annual AmLaw Tech Survey has identified Kroll Ontrack as the industry’s most used electronic discovery provider among leading law firms for the fourth year in a row. The annual survey targets the AmLaw 200 firms to reveal trends in technology use as well as which products and services are the most popular among the country’s largest law firms.

In addition to being recognized as the most used electronic discovery provider, Kroll Ontrack’s online review software, ElectronicDataViewer™, was chosen as the second most used online document review tool for electronic discovery. In 2005, ElectronicDataViewer was chosen by 24 percent of the top firms, showing significant growth from three percent in 2004.

In the electronic evidence discovery provider category, 134 firms responded with 60 percent (81 firms) of respondents identifying Kroll Ontrack as their preferred electronic discovery provider. Kroll Ontrack rose from 50 percent in 2004 and 31 percent in 2003, making Kroll Ontrack one of the fastest growing electronic discovery providers.

The AmLaw Tech Survey is provided to subscribers of The American Lawyer as a supplement to the September issue. The survey, tracking legal technology trends for ten years, has uncovered significant jumps in technology usage and adoption by leading law firms.
