-- Top honors from LTN®, AmLaw Tech, and Law Office Computing reinforce company’s market-leader status --

MINNEAPOLIS – February 1, 2005 – Kroll Ontrack, the leading provider of electronic and paper-based document discovery solutions and computer forensic services, announced today that the company has won the 2004 Law Technology News® Award for the top “Electronic Data Discovery System.” The award, which was voted on by the readers of Law Technology News®, was presented to Kroll Ontrack during an awards dinner at LegalTech New York on January 31.

“This latest award affirms the level of confidence and satisfaction that our customers have in our electronic discovery and computer forensic services,” said Ben Allen, President of Kroll Ontrack. “As this and other recent surveys clearly indicate, the selection of the right electronic discovery expert is a critical decision for law firms and corporations as they choose the best partner to address and manage e-discovery concerns.”

“We are honored to be consistently recognized as the top provider of quality e-discovery and computer forensics services by new and repeat clients – customers who have trusted their most important projects to Kroll Ontrack over the past year,” Allen said.

In addition to being recognized by Law Technology News® as the top electronic discovery expert, Kroll Ontrack has taken top honors in the “electronic evidence discovery vendor” category for the third consecutive year in the Ninth Annual AmLaw Tech Survey, which was released in September 2004. Law Office Computing magazine has also named Kroll Ontrack as the winner of the “Electronic Discovery” category in the 10th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards in its August/September 2004 issue.

In 2004, the editors of Law Technology News® asked the publication’s 40,000+ subscribers to select products and vendors that represented outstanding achievement in legal technology in 13 award categories. Online ballots were solicited from LTN’s subscriber audience of law firm partners and managing partners, legal administrators, MIS/IT directors and specialists, corporate counsel, litigation support specialists, librarians and other legal professionals. Only subscribers’ ballots were accepted. Winners were determined based on the most-mentioned product/company in each category.
