Big data driving ‘massive data traffic rise’

The growth in information volumes being managed at cloud data centres has surged in recent months, with business’ big data traffic predicted to reach two-thirds of all data centre processes by 2016.

Lawrence Garvin, representative for IT management firm SolarWinds, told ABC.net that this influx of information is likely to have a significant impact on connectivity and access speeds if investment in the right areas is not made in the coming years.

He therefore urged firms wishing to ensure data recovery and transfer speeds are not impacted to not only look into the use of network management tools, but to also invest in increased bandwidth for their connections.

“It is rather surprising (and more than a little alarming) that many businesses do not factor bandwidth and other network considerations into their cloud strategies,” Mr Garvin stated.

He concluded that failing to properly research and invest in these areas could see businesses fall behind their competitors.

It is wise to choose a data recovery company who has a track record in recovering from the type of data loss you have experienced.
