Why are files disappearing from my hard drive?

To recover missing files, download Ontrack's EasyRecovery software, which recovers up one gigabyte of deleted files free of charge. If files are consistently disappearing from the hard drive, it could indicate corruption of the file system. Corruption can occur if the computer isn't properly shut down or has lost power while writing data to the hard drive. Running the Windows CHKDSK program in Windows, or Apple Disk utility, if you're using a Mac, can fix minor file corruption and help prevent the problem from reoccurring.

Are there any fees for Ontrack Tech Support?

Can Ontrack recover my data?

Without the chance to evaluate your hard drive, we really can't say for sure. The full answer will depend on the severity of the damage (if any), the length of time since your data was lost and the hard drive type among other factors. However, with more than three decades of experience and the best resources to hand, it's highly likely we can get the data you need. So far, we've completed more than 600,000 recoveries with a 90% success rate.

How much does it cost to recover data from a failed hard drive?

The cost of recovering data from a damaged storage device is determined by the time and effort that goes into getting the data you need and not by the size of the drive or volume of data. This makes it difficult to give you a price without evaluating your situation first.In any case, we rely on our unmatched data recovery expertise and 35 years of industry experience to work as efficiently as possible, meaning you'll always get a great price from us.What's more, you'll have a choice of service options, each with its own price.
