Ontrack licenses award winning solutions from connected corporationONTRACK Data International, Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDI), the world leader in data recovery services, today announced that it has signed a worldwide product licensing agreement with Connected Corporation, the leader in Internet protocol PC backup and recovery solutions.
The agreement with Connected follows on the heels of announced plans for Ontrack to acquire Mijenix Corporation, a Boulder, Colorado based supplier of system software products for enhancing the use of Windows-based computer systems. According to Michael Rogers, Ontrack CEO, both announcements support the company's strategy to expand the company's offerings beyond data recovery to encompass all aspects of data availability.
“A solid data availability strategy requires backup and restore solutions; file management, diagnostic and repair software; and do-it-yourself data recovery options, all supported by industry-leading remote and in-lab data recovery capabilities,” Rogers said. “Now customers can improve their uptime and simplify their data availability processes by getting it all from a single source,” he added.
Under the agreement, Ontrack will license Connected's award-winning solutions, Connected Network Backup (CNB) and Connected Online Backup (COB). As part of a comprehensive data availability offering, Ontrack will sell CNB and COB through its direct and Internet sales channels. Terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.
“By licensing our technology, Ontrack can offer its customers an end-to-end disaster recovery solution for all desktop and laptop users in an enterprise,” said Glenn Gaudet, director of product marketing at Connected. “Our award winning solutions provide automated PC disaster recovery in the form of a product or service. This agreement gives Ontrack a strong competitive advantage and also further strengthens Connected's position as the leader in the market.”
“Ontrack now has several levels of PC recovery options,” said said Philip Mendoza, a system management software analyst at International Data Corporation. “COB and CNB add to Ontrack's diagnostic and media recovery solutions the ability to restore applications, settings, and previous versions of user files. So, customers can go to Ontrack for one-stop shopping for preventative, intermediate, and last-resort PC data protection.”
